Our original Wimbledon group started in January 2007 as an amalgamation of the former Putney / Roehampton and Battersea Academies and have taken a number of exams and performed at Sadler's Wells theatre in Easter 2008. The class was taught by a former Championship winner and current ADFP Adjudicator and run in conjunction with Emma Weir, Principal of Emma's Academy and the Albany Dance Club. Both teachers are fully IDTA qualified and with years of experience training students. The class was also assisted by a former competitor and contemporary dance graduate who also teaches at the Hanwell Academy.

 

The Dance Factory was a mix of Street, Freestyle and Jazz with chart music, sharp moves and high energy. Currently the class is on a break after having some problems with our venue but we hope to return in the future.

 

For other dance classes within the area, in January 2010 we are opening a new after school dance club at Balham Leisure Centre through Wandsworth Sports Development in conjunction with their Sport Unlimited project. Contact info@emmasacademy.co.uk for more information.
